Portman Finance Ltd was established in 2005. We are privately funded and provide bespoke short term, secured loans for commercial purposes.

With over 30 years banking and property experience from the Directors we are happy to consider some of the more challenging deals. If the deal can be secured and there is a viable exit route, then Portman Finance may be able to help.

Portman Finance prides itself on providing finance where other lenders cannot finance. From cash flow funding to development finance, we will consider a variety of deals. We are fast and flexible, you can speak directly to the decision makers and an In Principle decision is normally given within 48 hours.

Portman Finance does not provide regulated mortgage contracts and will therefore not lend on first legal charges over principle residences.

All loans require security and will always need a viable exit route. The loans must always be for commercial purposes and for a term of up to 18 months.

We endeavour to try and keep the process simple to ensure that the experience for both the intermediary and borrower is easy and efficient.

  • stage 1:

    Once the details of a deal have been established, we will make a decision within 48 hours as to whether we are able to assist.

  • stage 2:

    If we can assist, then we will issue Heads of Terms which will outline the terms of the offer.

  • stage 3:

    If the borrower is happy to proceed then the next step will be to meet the borrower at the security address.

  • stage 4:

    Formal credit sanction is then obtained.

  • stage 5:

    Upon acceptance a valuation and solicitors can then be instructed.

  • stage 6:

    Once all conditions are satisfied and legal work completed then the loan will be drawn down.
